The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, directed by William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, won an Oscar for Best Animated Short Feature Film this past Sunday, beating out Pixar’s La Luna.
As much as I adore Pixar and saw La Luna, this short is really superb and deserved to win. It doesn’t hurt that I have had a love affair with books my entire life and find the concept behind this short truly magical. Though to be fair, the nominated short A Morning Stroll was the funniest, by far.

ok, this was breathtaking. had i known that it would be harder to watch than ‘finding nemo’, ‘up’, and ‘toy story 3’ put together, i may have opted for watching ‘the notebook’ instead….
